Fleetwide Public Health & Sanitization Standards

AmaWaterways operates under a meticulous, continuous sanitation framework that satisfies all European and international vessel hygiene regulations. The dedicated onboard teams conduct deep cleaning schedules around the clock to ensure pristine conditions throughout the ship.

• Hospital-Grade Disinfection: Main lounges, reception desks, fitness rooms, and high-traffic corridors are treated regularly throughout the day with advanced, non-toxic sanitizing solutions.
• Stateroom Service: Staterooms and suites are thoroughly detailed daily, with enhanced disinfection focus applied to high-contact surfaces such as climate controls, TV remotes, light switches, and door handles.
• Hand Hygiene Stations: Touchless hand-sanitizing dispensers are highly visible and heavily accessible across all vessels, particularly at the entrance to the main dining rooms, The Chef's Table specialty restaurant, and at the ship's gangways.

Advanced Air Quality & Ventilation Systems

To provide a fresh and healthy indoor environment, all AmaWaterways vessels are engineered with state-of-the-art climate control systems. Guest staterooms and public lounges are continuously supplied with 100% fresh, filtered outdoor air. The heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units utilize multi-stage commercial filtration setups that completely process and refresh the air, ensuring that air is never cross-circulated between individual guest accommodations.

Shoreside Medical Networks & Emergency Support

Because river vessels cruise in constant, close proximity to major metropolitan centers and shore facilities, AmaWaterways ships do not employ full-time medical doctors or nurses on board (with select exceptions on isolated exotic itineraries). Instead, our captains and cruise managers maintain a rapid-response network tied directly to local medical professionals, pharmacies, and premium shoreside hospital networks at every port of call along the river routes. Immediate medical assistance or physician house calls can be easily arranged directly to the ship at any point during the voyage.

Travel Documentation & Destination Wellness Guidelines

With global maritime travel rules returned to baseline frameworks, guests can board the fleet without broad public health restrictions or testing rules. However, individual destination nations along our river pathways may occasionally enforce localized entry requirements, border customs, or health immigration forms (such as Colombia's CheckMig system). Guests are entirely responsible for securing and bringing all valid travel credentials?such as valid passports, necessary visas, and certified destination entry documentation?required by their itinerary.

AmaWaterways Travel Protection Plan & Travel Waiver Plus: Because standard domestic health insurance plans do not extend coverage internationally or cover the high costs of medical repatriation, AmaWaterways strongly urges all guests to obtain adequate travel insurance. Guests are highly encouraged to review the AmaWaterways Cruise Protection Plan alongside the optional Travel Waiver Plus program, which allows for flexible "cancel for any reason" future cruise credits up to 31 days prior to departure.
