Medical Emergencies or Incidents

American Cruise Lines has relationships with law enforcement agencies, local transportation companies, and medical service providers that put emergency services within close reach of the ships, whether underway or in port. The health and safety protocols combined with the state and local partnerships enables American Cruise Lines to provide safe travel experiences in more than 35 states across America. The fleet of domestic ships travel U.S. waterways and only visit U.S. ports with ready access to medical and emergency services. American Cruise Lines does not leave sight of land and do not clear customs or immigrate into the U.S. to dock the ships.

Each ship carries a first responder and has defibrillators and oxygen. These individuals can identify and stabilize a situation for transport ashore. If medical treatment beyond the capability of the crew is required, shipboard personnel will arrange transportation and remain in contact with the patient. Each stateroom has an independent HVAC system and there is no shared ducting between rooms. All rooms have either an opening window or balcony door for ready access to fresh air.

Onboard Safety

American Cruise Lines cleans staterooms daily and has regular sanitation schedules for all common spaces, with particular emphasis on high-touch areas. Hand sanitizer is available in multiple areas throughout the ship and at the gangway. Cleaning and sanitation policies are designed to limit the spread of germs. Masks and gloves are available to guests and crew upon request.

American Cruise Lines' policies are subject to change and may be adapted to state or local regulations in each area. American Cruise Lines is in direct contact with guests to clearly communicate any unique requirements in advance of departure.

Right to Disembark and Quarantine

You are encouraged to discuss the advisability of travel with your physician and to review the websites of relevant government agencies for updated information. You acknowledge, understand and accept that while aboard the vessel, in terminals and boarding areas, or during activities ashore and/ or while traveling to or from the vessel, you or other guests may be exposed to communicable illnesses, including but not limited to COVID-19, influenza, colds and norovirus. You further understand and accept that the risk of exposures to these communicable illnesses and others is inherent in most activities where people interact or share common facilities, are beyond American Cruise Lines' control, and cannot be eliminated under any circumstances. You knowingly and voluntarily accept these risks as part of this contract, including the risk of serious illness or death arising from such exposures, and/or all related damages, loss, costs and expenses of any nature whatsoever.
