As you prepare to set sail, Royal wanted to notify you of an update to the daily gratuity charges. As of November 1, 2024, the automatic daily gratuity charge will increase from $18.00 USD to $18.50 USD per guest, per day for regular staterooms, including Junior Suites, and from $20.50 USD to $21.00 USD per guest, per day for suites. The daily gratuity is shared among dining, bar & culinary services staff, stateroom attendants, and other hotel services teams.
If you'd like to pre-pay your gratuities at the current rate before it increases, Royal is happy to extend this opportunity to you. If you'd prefer to pay onboard, your gratuity charge will be applied to your onboard account at the new rate.
Other onboard gratuity policies remain the same - an 18% gratuity will be automatically added to purchases for beverages, room service, and mini bar items and 20% gratuity will be automatically added to purchases for spa & salon services. These will be itemized on your receipt at the end of each purchase.
In the unlikely event that a guest onboard being charged the daily automatic gratuity does not receive satisfactory service, the guest may request to modify the daily amount at their discretion by visiting Guest Services onboard and will be able to do so until the morning of their departure. Guests who have pre-paid their gratuity will not see a daily charge during their cruise.
The automatic daily gratuity is based on customary industry standards. Applying this charge automatically helps streamline the recognition process for the crew members who work to enhance your cruise. Royal Caribbean hopes you find the gratuity to be an accurate reflection of your satisfaction and thank you for your generous recognition of staff.
To pre-pay your gratuities before your sailing at the current rate, or if you have any questions, please contact your Travel Advisor immediately.
