Cheap Galapagos Islands Cruises

Cheap Galapagos Cruises

Perfect for outdoorsy types and nature lovers, the Galapagos is home to many animals you won't find elsewhere, from massive tortoises to blue-footed boobies and pink iguanas. It was discovered by Charles Darwin nearly two hundred years ago, and has remained a relatively untouched destination, with just about 25,000 residents across the islands. The Galapagos islands are home to magnificent volcanoes, some of which still erupt every few years, as well as saltwater lagoons, tidal pools, and lava tunnels. While on a discount cruise vacation to the Galapagos, you can explore the beauty of the islands by snorkeling, kayaking, biking, and hiking.

Cruise ships sail to the islands year round, though there are two distinct seasons to consider. From January to May it is the wet season, with light rain most days but warm temperatures often creeping up into the high 80s. In the second half of the year, June through December, it's typically dry but cooler, with temperatures in the 60s. Only a handful of cruise lines sail here, including Celebrity Cruises, Lindblad Expeditions, and Silversea Cruises. Popular ports include San Cristobal, home to several extinct volcanoes and Lagoon El Junco; Bartolome, where you can see friendly Galapagos penguins up close; and Isabela, which boasts the Tortoise Breeding Center.
